Our Purpose

Why we do what we do at SGNM.

  • Our Purpose

We love to hear Good News that makes life worth living.

The message of Jesus Christ is the Good News of God to us.

This Good News is for sharing—always—but particularly in bad news times like ours.

We spotlight the Good News to people who’ve not heard or received it.

We shine light on the Good News for people who already have heard and embraced it.

Our motto: Live to Serve; Learn to Live!

  • Our Approach

    Spotlight Good News Stories

    Whose Stories?

Stories of people and organizations living the Good News every day

Stories of people and organizations making a good news difference in small and great ways

    How?

By telling their good news stories during a 15-minute weekday radio program—Spotlight Good News Omaha, on AM 660, KCRO

By sharing these good news stories through our SGNM website, Facebook, YouTube, and other social media platforms

    Why?

To inspire us to trust Christ for our own good news stories every day

    Spotlight Good News Service

Inspiring people to “live to serve” others in service to Christ.

By sharing stories of service, more people are inspired to live to serve.

Connecting people to good news opportunities

We provide contact between our interviewees who tell their stories of service and our audience members who are moved to join their work.

We provide contact between interviewees and people who need the good news services they offer.

Linking good news people and organizations to each other

To share vision, resources, and partnering opportunities for service

To encourage and support each other in service to Christ

    Spotlight Good News Scripture Study

    Stories and Scripture

Our good news stories grow out of the best good news story—the story of salvation in Jesus Christ.

We therefore provide resources geared to teach the salvation story found in Scripture and Christian Theology.

    Service and Scripture

Jesus Christ, the center of the salvation story, said he came “not to be served but to serve—and to give himself as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).

We therefore offer resources based in Scripture and Christian Theology to equip us to serve others.

    Access to Scripture Study Resources

Videos, podcasts, written resources made available through our spotlightgoodnews.com website and other social media platforms

  • Our Ministry Target Area

Our primary ministry target area is Greater Omaha, Nebraska (Omaha, Lincoln, Council Bluffs).

Most good news stories and service opportunities therefore are drawn from this vicinity.

Our Spotlight Scripture Study resources apply more generally to Greater Omaha and beyond.
